"It's The Same Thing," our first film, is finished! It's a shocking, unforgettable short film about the sanctity of life.
"It's The Same Thing" is a film that is polarizing, controversial, and unique in the way it depicts present-day attitudes about abortion. This film will impact you deeply, and you'll either be infuriated or in solemn agreement. Regardless of your beliefs about abortion, you will never forget "It's The Same Thing."
For those of you who think that abortion is an easy solution for an unwanted pregnancy, it's not. It's murder. Thus the name-"Abortion = Murder-It's The Same Thing."

Grayson Andrew Auman makes his deafening debut!
"Just One Look" Ruminations on Fatherhood
Last Tuesday I became a father-again. Just in time for Father’s Day, my fourth son, Grayson Andrew, was born at 8:25 a.m. on June 16th. He was a chunky monkey, weighing in at 9 lbs. 7 oz., and screaming like a banshee even before he fully exited his mother. Even being the fourth son, his thunderous arrival was a revelation. The miracle of a new life, conceived by the love shared between my wife and I, and expertly knit together in her womb by our ingenious Creator, has been a pivotal moment in my life. I’ll do my best to explain what mere words could never adequately describe… (click on screaming Grayson for the whole story)
He could've chosen to save Himself, but He didn't...
"But He Didn't" An Easter Tribute Wayne Auman (c) 2009
God could’ve skipped creating animals, plants, fruit and vegetables, clouds, rainbows, oceans, and the heavens and we’d never have known the difference. God could’ve created us to be mindless, robotic automatons, doing nothing but work and worship 24/7, and we’d never have known the difference.
But He didn’t.

New columns just added-"Nobody's Perfect" and "In Their Shoes"
"Nobody's Perfeck" Wayne Auman (c) 2009
Don’t you wish you could just relax and be yourself, and that people would accept you just the way you are? I know I do. Think about it. In a perfect world, all of your bad habits, annoying quirks, irritating mannerisms, and questionable fashion sense (OK, that one’s just for me.) would never be held against you in the court of public opinion. Think how liberating it would be to be unconcerned with always “keeping up appearances” or living in fear of being ostracized or being called politically/socially/religiously incorrect. That would be true freedom, would it not?

The Don and his pets, less perfect than he thinks...
Remember the old adage, “Don’t judge a person until you walk a mile in their shoes?” There’s profound wisdom in that simple statement. Think of all the times you judge people by the way they look, act, speak, or even smell. Consider how you condemn those who practice a different kind of lifestyle than you, whether it be sexual orientation, religious belief, or legal standing. Think of the contempt you feel for those locked away from us decent, law-abiding citizens. I mean, they’re criminals. Serves ‘em right, right? (For the rest of the story, click on the shoes.)
Just added! Doug Spark's new column, "Beep-Beep!"
Beep-Beep! Doug Sparks (c) 2009 Back when I had time to waste, there was no better way to waste it than with Saturday morning cartoons. One of my favorites was the Road Runner.
Such imagination! You never knew what that bird would do next (unless, like me, you had already seen that episode 23 times). Part of what made it so good was that unforgettable character, Wile E. Coyote. Even though you didn't want him to win (and eat the Road Runner), you still had to cheer for him. He tried so hard! (For more, click on the gravitationally-challenged coyote.)
Some lessons are learned the hard way...
The Red Cross saves lives...
"A New Blood Drive" Wayne Auman (c) 2009
The Red Cross is an organization that really knows how to appeal to the best instincts of us all. By bringing attention to the desperate need of the less fortunate, the Red Cross taps into the noble, charitable hearts of people everywhere. No doubt they help countless people in all manner of dire circumstances, and for that, the Red Cross should be applauded.
Take their blood drives, for instance. Expertly organized, enthusiastically staffed by professionals and volunteers, and exhaustively advertised in every medium, the Red Cross Blood Drives succeed primarily because the public has been made aware of a critical need. A need that can only be met by the life-blood of caring, sharing individuals. By suffering temporary pain in donating their precious blood, those beneficent folks have helped save thousands of lives, unquestionably a heroic act if there ever was one.
However, how much more valuable is the Blood that not only saves your life, but also saves your very soul? (Click on photos for the rest of the story.)

Attending my first Auman family reunion in 49 years of life was a revelation. It was so refreshing to be surrounded by so many Aumans above ground rather than planted in it! Meeting long-lost or never-met relatives in a festive atmosphere was a delicious exercise in discovery, as well as a delicious feast for the palette. (Those Auman women sure can cook!)
Before we made the three-hour trip back home, my family and I walked through the little churches’ graveyard, the name AUMAN on the majority of the headstones. We reverently made our way through the cemetery, noting the oldest birthdate (1809), the latest death (2008), the shortest life (one day), and the longest life (101). The date of birth and the date of death were separated by one thing; The Dash. (For the rest of the story, click on Thaddeus Auman's Dash to the right...)
In the Phantom of the Opera, we are told the story of a horribly disfigured, yet immensely evocative and talented Maestro, hopelessly in love with Christine, the fair and lovely singer with the lilting, soaring voice. A beauty and the beast scenario, if you will. Once abducted by the Phantom, Christine is terrified, yet ultimately captivated and deeply touched by the undiluted adoration and sensitive heart of her captor. Christine learns to look past his physical deformity and begins to fall in love with the Phantom’s romantic, yet mesmerizing music, and his intoxicating yearning for her. Just when you think that she will be forever enthralled by the Phantom, in sails the handsome Raoul, rescuing her from, he imagines, a horrible fate. The Phantom, thus robbed of the one true love of his life, dies a spectacular death in attempting to re-capture his lost Christine. Poignant.Moving. Infuriating. Yes, infuriating.

You are far wealthier than you know. In your possession, at this very moment, is a priceless treasure more valuable than any riches you could possibly imagine. (I know, I know; like Han Solo, you can imagine quite a lot.) But seriously, your treasure is beyond measure. It is eternally precious. And it is the prized object of a fierce, invisible war being waged around us at this very moment. The problem with this incomparable treasure is that it’s deeply buried. Buried so deep that many of you are completely oblivious to it’s existence, and ignorant of its worth. A treasure so valuable, that without it you would surely perish. A treasure so rare that it’s worth thousands of times more than it’s weight in diamonds, gold, or platinum.

Your treasure is far more valuable than this...
Choose wisely your path to eternity...

"I Wonder" (A Love Song to The Son I Never Knew) Written by Wayne Auman and Jamie Dickmann Performed by Jamie Dickmann
This is the song I wrote on the 25th anniversary of my first son's tragic death by abortion. Be sure to read the entire story of that terrible decision, my failure to save the life of my precious little boy, and the traumatic consequences of choosing death instead of life. A Love Letter To Oprah
by Dr. James Robison (Click on the photo to read the article)
Dear Oprah...
Welcome to Hope For The Helpless. I'm Wayne Auman, and I created this site to be a source of encouragement to those who have had to deal with physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, as well as those who are fighting addictions. Rather than judge and condemn, I choose to reach out to give hope to the helpless, and to point the way to the only true solution for their struggles: the Lord Jesus Christ.
There's no way in this fallen world to break free from the bondage of our temptations, wounds, and addictions in our own power. I'm here to remind everyone that they are loved with an incredible, incomparable love; that God loves them just as they are. God knows that the battle against sin can't be won on our own, that's why He provided us a Savior, Jesus Christ. By receiving Jesus as your Lord and Savior and turning from your sin, you'll be washed white as snow, with a totally clean slate. Once you follow Jesus Christ, you then receive God's Holy Spirit, who indwells within you, brings you a peace beyond all understanding, and allows you to tap into the power of the Lord Himself to defeat all sin, all addictions, and all emotional/spiritual turmoil. Then, and only then, will you be victorious."
Another reason that I created "Hope For The Helpless," is to give a voice to the most helpless, innocent beings of all, our precious unborn babies. I am a father of an unborn son-a son that I desperately wanted-abortion is a deeply personal issue to me. On the 25th anniversary of my son's horrible death, I wrote the song, "I Wonder," and wrote an account of the entire experience entitled, "Love Song to the Son I Never Knew," which is archived on this website. I am available to speak out against this sadistic, barbaric practice if needed.
Please check out the Chris Tomlin video, "Amazing Grace-The Chains are Gone," at the upper right of this column. In the video, a pregnant young girl must decide what to do after discovering she's pregnant out of wedlock. This video is uplifting, and demonstrates the difficulty of the "choice," which in reality is simply a decision to either kill your baby, or lovingly nurture your precious baby to a healthy delivery, as God intends. Every baby that is conceived is intended by the Lord to be born, with no exceptions. He gives us the right to choose either life, or death. If you elect to "take the easy way out," (a lie from the devil himself), then be prepared to pay the life-long traumatic consequences of your actions. While God will forgive you if you ask Him to, you'll still have to deal with the devastating emotional destruction for the rest of your life. So choose wisely. Choose life !
The next video is "Cry Out to Jesus," by Third Day. The chorus of this song is, in part, the inspiration for the name of this web-site:
There is hope for the helpless, Rest for the weary, And love for the broken heart. There is grace and forgiveness, Mercy and healing, He'll meet you wherever you are.
Cry out to Jesus ! Cry out to Jesus !
That's what this web-site is all about. I know you're hurting. We all are in pain at times. We're all helpless in this sinful world if we go our own way. Don't despair-there is hope, rest, grace, forgiveness, mercy and healing for us all. Turn to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the only hope for the helpless...

Casting Crowns "Does Anybody Hear Her?" Who do you think about when you hear this song? A friend? An enemy? Yourself? Fellow believers, we have no excuse before God, not to reach out in loving compassion...
Chris Tomlin "Indescribable" What an amazing praise song! This is a song that I wish I wrote, because I so appreciate the wonder and majesty of God's creation. What an awesome God we serve!
Todd Agnew "My Jesus" What a challenging and brutally honest song. Why do believers believe? Is it to prosper on this earth, or do we truly love & obey our Lord Jesus? This video reminds us of the incalculable cost of our salvation.
Mark Schultz "I Am"
This song begins to capture the glory of our precious Lord Jesus Christ. Where words fail, the images help to convey the infinite goodness of God's only begotten Son.
